AMOA is a national trade association serving the out-of-home entertainment industry. As a mission-driven organization with a specialized B2B audience, AMOA must communicate effectively with operators, manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, members, prospects, and industry partners. Its communication promotes membership value, industry growth, regulatory awareness, education, and innovation, and advocacy across the entertainment sector.
Challenge
AMOA needed to modernize its website without disrupting the programs and services members depend on every day. More than a marketing tool, the site supports member access, dues renewals, event registration, education, directories, advocacy updates, sponsorships, and staff administration. The redesigned platform needed to serve audiences with different priorities while maintaining the operational systems that keep the association running.
Approach
More than a visual refresh, AMOA’s updated website was built to perform. JMS designed and programmed a platform that was mobile-friendly, fast, accessible, secure, measurable, and easy for staff to manage. Guided by WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards and Core Web Vitals performance measures, it improved usability across devices while supporting search visibility and ongoing optimization.
Working closely with AMOA’s staff, whose deep knowledge of members and the industry informed every decision, JMS developed a detailed website brief, before design and development began. The brief established a clear roadmap for site structure, functionality, content priorities, and performance goals. The result was a modern digital hub that strengthened the member experience, supported daily operations, and created a flexible foundation for future growth.
Results
Within six months of launch, AMOA reported 28% year-over-year growth in sessions and engaged sessions. The early performance milestone demonstrated that the new site was gaining traction with users while supporting a stronger online presence.
Just as important, the site integrated seamlessly into AMOA’s daily operations. Staff found it easy to update and monitor, and member services continued without disruption throughout the transition.

Takeaway
Careful planning and close partnership drove the project’s success. AMOA’s staff worked thoughtfully through the website-brief process, championed by its executive vice president, ensuring that member needs, operational requirements, and long-term goals were addressed from the start.
That shared commitment produced a high-performing website and earned the project an American Digital Design Award from GDUSA.
